Capturing Wild & Free Moments: Gold Coast & Byron Bay Family Photographer

I recently spent a morning with Jess and her two little ones, Banks and Lyla, at the tea tree lakes. It was one of those sessions that reminded me exactly why I love family photography.

There was no rush, no expectations—just the simple joy of being together. We started with a little exploring, the kids running ahead, splashing in shallow streams and finding little treasures along the way. It wasn’t long before shoes were off, clothes were damp, and everyone had fully embraced the freedom of the day.

Jess was incredible to watch with her kids. You could see how deeply she treasures these fleeting years—how she holds onto the quiet moments between the chaos, soaking in every laugh, every hug, and every tiny hand reaching for hers. It was beautiful to witness, and even more rewarding to capture.

For me, this is what family photography is all about. It’s not about stiff poses or forced smiles—it’s about capturing your family exactly as you are. The messy hair, the sandy toes, the wild giggles, and even the quiet moments in between. These are the little things you’ll want to remember years from now.

The tea tree lakes, with their earthy colors and serene atmosphere, were the perfect backdrop for this session. Banks and Lyla were in their element, playing freely and enjoying the space to just be kids. By the end of the session, they were soaked and happy, and Jess had a collection of memories she’ll be able to hold onto forever.

If you’re a parent, you know how quickly these years pass. It feels like one minute they’re small enough to carry in your arms, and the next, they’re running ahead, exploring the world on their own. That’s why these moments matter so much. My goal is to give you something real—photos that feel like you, that capture your family’s unique energy and connection.

So, if you’re looking for a family photographer in Northern Rivers or beyond, and you want a session that’s relaxed, natural, and full of heart, I’d love to work with you. Whether we’re running along the beach, splashing in lakes, or just hanging out in your backyard, I’m here to document your story—just as it is.
